HASAN MINHAJ: ON HOW TO STRATEGICALLY EXPRESS YOURSELF & TAKE CRITICISM POSITIVELY
Link
- When criticizing something
- You don't have to take yourself seriously.
- We all have flaws.
- You have to be able to laugh at those.
- Hatred and vengeance are a good fuel - but it doesn't burn efficiently.
- Whereas, just living to prove to yourself everyday - it plays out better over time. Doesn't taper off.
- How do you convince someone to your pov?
- The truth is the truth - objectively.
- We just present the evidence - it's up to them to decide where they want to go.
- Get your satisfaction from what you know is true - from the deep work, introspection, the research, the creativity etc.
- You can still disagree with people and love them very much.
- Separate people's humanity from their views.
- Respect them on a humanity level
- Ideas and beliefs form us, but not all of us.
- None of us are living lives where every decision we made was perfect - there'll always be people that disagree with you.
- Patience
- Eventually, for better or worse, the answer will be there.
- And you'll have come to terms with both realities.
- You don't have to get upset about it today
- What's the hardest task you can do within 24 hours, write that down and do that.
